Updating our Home Flooring with America’s Floor Source

Hardwood Flooring from America's Floor Source

A few years ago our family moved from Ostrander to a brand new home in Jerome. We originally moved in as renters, we had planned to rent for a short year while we built a home in another neighborhood. After a few months in the home, our kids had made friends and really grew to love the neighborhood. We know we had to stay. We ended up purchasing the home that we spent a year renting and have become permanent residents of Jerome Village.

After making the decision to stay we became tasked with making our “builder grade” rental home, OUR home….starting with the flooring!

As one can expect, with two young children, two dogs, and a cat, our standard, builder-grade carpet was the first thing on my list to replace in our home. Earlier in the fall we started on our mission to replace carpet and upgraded the carpeting in our bedroom and the kid’s bedrooms. There were only a few remaining spaces in our home that still had carpet. Those spaces were the stairs and second floor hallway, a second floor bedroom that we made into a playroom, and a first floor office that we turned into a classroom for our children.

Because we already have wood in our home, we needed some expert help matching new flooring to our current flooring. Our flooring had been discontinued so we had to either try to match it closely or choose something to contrast it.

One thing I really loved about working with America’s Floor Source was their Mobile Floor Source. Rather than having to visit their showroom, they brought the samples right to us! After looking at the America’s Floor Source website, I spoke with Jess, one of their design consultants. I told Jess what we liked and didn’t like about our current floors and what we were looking for in new flooring. Jess came to our home with the samples that she felt would best meet our needs and she completely nailed it!

After making our selections and having measurements taken our installation was scheduled. The flooring was dropped off at our home to acclimate for a few days before it was installed. It’s amazing how flooring can totally transform a space. The first space we added wood to was the kids classroom. The hardwood floor was a must in this room for our five year old daughter Vivian, who loves to paint and craft.

In addition to the classroom,  we added wood flooring to our kid’s playroom. We knew this room especially needed hardwood flooring. It’s where our kids eat snacks and where we have their fishtank.

The final area of flooring we redid was the upstairs hallway, this high traffic area was one of the most worn out when it came to the carpeting. I am a huge fan of wood on the second floor so this was the space I was most excited about. I can’t believe the difference our new floors made in all of the spaces.

You would think this whole process would have been stressful based on all the decisions and installation, but this was not the case with America’s Floor Source. The process was great from start to finish. I highly recommend working with them if you have been considering new floors in any of your rooms.
